New year Message from the President

Dear members and friends of EAPD,

Happy New Year 2026!

I truly hope each of you enjoyed a peaceful and well‑deserved break over the festive season. As we step into a new year, my warmest wishes go to you and your families — may 2026 bring joy, good health, and fulfilment in all parts of your lives.

As I reflect on the past year, I cannot help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. In my last message, we looked back at the milestones we achieved together in 2025, and I am delighted to share one more: the successful completion of the MIH Consensus Workshop in Athens just before Christmas. Watching the team work with such dedication, energy, and belief in our shared mission has been genuinely inspiring. Their thoughtful discussions, commitment, and numerous hours of preparation will soon be realised in a new consensus document. My heartfelt thanks go to every member of the group — and to our sponsors for standing beside us and making this workshop possible.
This upcoming consensus will reinforce the foundations of MIH that the EAPD first laid during the 2009 interim seminar in Helsinki. I am personally very much looking forward to its publication and to the contribution it will make to our dental community.
Looking ahead, one of the moments I am most excited about is our opportunity to come together again at the Annual Congress in Liverpool from 1–4 July 2026. The Scientific Committee has worked with great enthusiasm to create an engaging and forward‑thinking programme that reflects both the important and emerging areas of paediatric dentistry. I genuinely look forward to welcoming you all there, reconnecting in person, and sharing the inspiring atmosphere that our meetings always bring.

As I have expressed before — and cannot emphasise enough — our achievements as an Academy are possible only because of the dedication, generosity, and voluntary efforts of our Board and Committee members. I deeply appreciate everything you contribute. And to you, our members and friends, thank you for your unwavering support. EAPD exists because of your trust and engagement.
Together, we continue to make a difference — not for ourselves, but for the precious children whose oral health and wellbeing we are committed to protecting. It is a privilege to work alongside you in this mission, and I look forward to everything we will accomplish together in the year ahead.

With my warmest regards,

Ferranti Wong
